How long does Formoa 017FE take to cure?
Formoa 017FE typically takes 2-4 hours to reach handling strength and up to 72 hours to reach full strength. While Formoa adhesives and sealants are designed to cure efficiently under various conditions, high humidity can accelerate the curing process, and colder temperatures might slow it down. Always refer to the specific product datasheet for precise curing times under different conditions. Read more about what affects adhesive cure time here.
Is Formoa 017FE suitable for indoor and outdoor applications?
Absolutely. Formoa 017FE has excellent UV and weather resistance, making it ideal for both interior and exterior uses. The non-shrinking and non-yellowing properties ensure a clean and durable finish over time.
What does MS Polymer mean?
MS polymer adhesive stands for ""Modified Silane polymer adhesive."" It's a hybrid adhesive and sealant technology that combines the best features of both polyurethane (PU) and silicone sealants. MS polymer products are free from solvents, isocyanates, and acids, which makes them safe to use, environmentally friendly, and reduces the risk of shrinkage after curing.
How long is the shelf life of Formoa products?
Our Formoa adhesives and sealants typically have a shelf life of 12 months when stored in a cool, dry place. However, always check the product label or datasheet for specific details.
Can Formoa adhesives be painted over?
Yes, once fully cured, Formoa adhesives can be painted over with standard paints. It's always a good practice to test a small area first to ensure compatibility.
What does the 'FE' mean in Formoa 017FE?
The letters FE in the name originated when the original product (Formoa 017) was adjusted for applications in the Far East. Formoa 017 was too fast curing for hot and humid applications so 017FE was formulated to suit these applications. It has since become one of the most popular Formoa products.
