Overview

Formoa 057 is a single-component adhesive sealant that has excellent sealing and bonding capabilities. It is designed to have better bonding capabilities than a sealant whilst also having better sealing capabilities than most adhesives. The faster cure time and high grab helps ensure production lines can keep moving. Formoa 057 also has excellent weathering resistance to remain durable in difficult conditions. Users should note potential allergic reactions, though instances are rare.

Can I paint over Formoa 057 after curing?

Yes, once Formoa 057 is fully cured, it can be painted over. You can also colour-match the product to avoid the need for painting over. As there is no silicone based ingredients in Formoa 057, it will not cause paint bubbling or cracking.

Is Formoa 057 the same as silicone?

Yes and no. Formoa 057 does not contain any silicone-based ingredients. Instead, it is an MS polymer-based product. However, it is the same as silicone in that you can use Formoa 057 instead of a silicone sealant. It has higher performance properties than a silicone. So if you want a cheap and cheerful product, it isn't for you.

Can Formoa 057 withstand harsh environmental conditions?

We have extensively tested Formoa 057 in our accelerated weathering machine. It provided very strong results. Even when exposed to harsh conditions, Formoa 057 remained strong and didn't have significant colour change.

How long does Formoa 057 take to cure?

You will need to wait at least 4-6 hours before putting Formoa 063 into light operation. It will take up to 72 hours for Formoa 057 to fully cure. The max open time of 30 minutes will mean you have to put the materials in place before that time otherwise the bond may be compromised.

Is Formoa 057 a structural adhesive or a sealant?

No, Formoa 057 isn't a structural adhesive. However, that doesn't mean you can't use it in structural applications. Due to its impressive strength performance, it is more than capable of bonding lightweight substrates in place or applications that have a large bonding area. Formoa 057 can be used as a sealant although it may be more difficult to get a good finish due to the increased viscosity.
